Admissions under FN/PIO Students Quota


Schedule of Admissions for 2022-23 shall be announced as per Government instructions.

Definitions:

  • ‘Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)’ means persons who are citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or that person or either of his / her grandparents or any of his/her grand parents was a citizen of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Sec 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No.57 of 1955).
  • ‘Foreign Nationals’ means Citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO.
  • ‘Foreign Student’ means Foreign Student in this context shall be defined as the student who possesses a foreign passport.

The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has approved Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur vide its letter dated: 23/09/2004 and there after extended permission session for admitting students having status of Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Children of Indian workers in the Gulf Countries under 15% supernumerary quota in the following branches:

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR NRI-WARD/FOREIGN NATIONALS/CHILDREN OF GULF NRI/PIO

AICTE has given an extension of approval for FN/PIO/Children of Gulf NRI (under 15% over and above sanctioned intake i.e. Supernumerary quota) and 5% for NRI within sanctioned intake for the session 2022-23 vide letter F.No. Western/1-10970336825/2022/EOA

NOTE : a) *5 percent seats for NRI Ward (Non Resident Indian) quota, within sanctioned intake as per AICTE / DTE (State CET CELL) rule. b) 15 percent seats for Foreign Nationals (FN) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / CHildren of Gulf NRI quota, which is over and above the sanctioned intake, is approved by AICTE.

The Government of Maharashtra State as per their resolution number TEM-2004/(515/04)/T.E.-1 Dated 29th November 2004 & further every year approved Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur for admissions to Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Children of Indian workers in the Gulf Countries under 15% supernumerary quota for the above said courses.

Procedure for First Year B.Tech. :


Online registration of application for admission through computer connected to Internet on the website for NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National should send the print of online filled application form & required documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification & confirmation to "The Principal, Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE), Versova Road, Munshi Nagar, Andheri (West), Mumbai-400058"
(Candidates shall write on the envelope “Application for NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National”)

Rules for admission under FN/PIO quota:

* If any seats available for Foreign Nationals / Foreign Students / Persons of Indian Origin /Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries remain vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates for these seats, such vacant seats shall be kept vacant. Under any condition these seats shall not be offered to any other candidates.

* 1/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and 2/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for the PIO / Foreign Nationals etc.

* As per the orders of Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, these seats can be filled by the institutes only after the institute is certified by the AICTE to the effect that the institute has infrastructure facilities for making the admissions against the over and above the sanctioned intake seats for Foreign Nationals, Foreign Students, PIOs and children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries. In the event of non-availability of Foreign Nationals, Foreign Students, PIOs and children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries, these seats can not be filled from any other candidates.

Eligibility criteria for FN/PIO candidates:

* Admissions to First Year B.E.: Candidate should have passed the HSSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.

* The eligibility of the candidates passing the HSSC (Std. XII) equivalent examination from a school/college/Examination Board situate outside India shall be further decided by the University Authorities to which the candidate is admitted.

* The candidate belonging to this type is not required to appear for the MHT-CET/JEE (Main).

Fees & Expenses:

1. For SAARC countries:

Following is the per year fee charged to the candidates belonging to the category of Foreign Nationals belonging to SAARC countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Shi Lanka, Maldives (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) and who will be admitted to four year degree course in the Engineering/Technology for academic year 2022-23.

2. For Non-SAARC countries:

Following is the per year fee charged to the candidates belonging to the category of Foreign Nationals/Foreign Students/PIO (Except citizens of Pakistan and Bangladesh) and who will be admitted to four year degree course in the Engineering/Technology for academic year 2021-22.

Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of ‘Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management ‘, Payable at Nagpur.

Note:

i) Eligibility Certificate can be obtained from concerned University (RTMNU), even before the provisional admissions after submitting the application in the prescribed form along with the fee.

ii) No objection Certificate: After getting the eligibility certificate from the RTM Nagpur University, the candidate is required to contact the Foreign Student Advisor of RTM Nagpur University. The candidate will be required to get a medical certificate in the prescribed format, from the Civil Surgeon, Mayo Hospital, Nagpur, after going through some required medical tests. After receiving the medical certificate, the Foreign Student’s Advisor, will direct the candidate to pay INR 40,000/- to the University, then the NOC is issued.

iii) In case, the results of “A” level / XII / equivalent examination are awaited, the candidates can also apply for provisional admission. However, they are required to submit the “A” level / XII or equivalent examination certificate at the time of confirmation of admission.

iv) Admission in Hostel, if needed, may be taken at the time of confirmation of admission. 5 rooms in Girls hostel and 25 rooms in Boys hostel have been reserved for FN/PIO/GULF/NRI students

  1. HSSC/XII Marks Sheet / “A” Level or equivalent certificate examination passed / appeared with English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as essential subjects.
  2. SSC/X Marks sheet / “O” level certificate or equivalent certificate

  7. VISA (Either working / business) of NRI / Guardian of NRI

  10. Transcripts, if any (applicable for Foreign Students)

Note:

    • In case of payments through NRO/NRE accounts equivalent Indian Rupee at the rate of 77 per USD.
    • An additional non refundable processing fee of rupees 10,000 is to be payed while filling the Admission request form by DD in favour of Shri Ramdeobaba college of engineering and management, Nagpur.

Refund Rule:

  • In case of cancellation of admission under NRI-Ward/FN/PIO/Gulf NRi Category made before 20th January, 2021 then proportionate monthly charges of Tution + Development + Other fee, will be deducted. In case of cancellation after cut-off date, no refund will be made, except refundable caution money deposit of INR 25,000.
